Secound Entry

One of my self directed research activity was researching a venue to hold a couple DJ's to perform in the area that I normally hold my Teen Clubs. Growing up in Asheville I knew a couple venue's already that could hold over thousands of people because it had to be large enough to make my money back from getting the booking of the famous DJ's such as DJ Pauly D , DJ Double Take and a couple other well known DJ's as well. I started researching from the venue I wanted to get the most, which was the Civic Center in Downtown Asheville. I then looked for the bookings information online and contacted the person for bookings. She gave me the run down consiting of the capacity, booking fee, legal agreements and so on and so forth. I then researched other venues from there but they have to have a capacity of 3,000 people or more.

I approached this process by really getting an idea of what and how I wanted my questions answered. From their I found the right resources and re read my sources over and over again to get a good understanding of them. I find with re reading something I get different understandings of the same point, furthermore giving myself a well rounded answer to my question. I found many similarities in my research process because you have to begin somewhere, and when you have a beginning point you may extend the process of what you are trying to do and how you are trying to accomplish it. After I have done so I try to find the best possible choices, just like I am trying to find the best possible resources in comparison to the venues I am choosing. I really engage in research when I am understanding the topic and have interest in the topic I am researching. Researching is a complicated process and probably the most difficult part of the writing process because with the best sources you can get the best information which translate to your paper being the best it can be. I think that if you fully understand your topic through research you will be able to take your paper to new heights.

I have learned a great amount of things about my research and how I begin to research, with understanding how I research I was able to perfect and change the ways of my research. I think in doing so it will positively effect the outcome of my papers because I have a good base from where to start. Just like a building, if it doesn't have a strong sturdy base, then it will all come crashing down. I think research is like the base of a building.
